Surreal Architecture – Amsterdam Apartment Interior
Built for a family of four, Dutch-based architectural firm i29 Interior Architects have created implausible architecture with simple architecture and pure colour.
Amsterdam apartment interior is a project which has brought an implausible architectural expression of an existing space by transforming it into spacious and a transparent home. With the innovative use of simple concept of using white colour paint throughout the house, i29 architects have worked together with this on client’s requirements.
The original structure constituted of various rooms with double height hall and walkways within along with numerous openings. The architects have induced the area into a spacious house with transparency and inflow of natural light and air within.
The complete house is painted with white spray paint crating a sense of purity and illuminating the areas naturally. The contrasting black colour furniture stands out giving areas an immaculate look. Kitchen is both a blend of simplicity and dynamism where the architects have used a beige colour background in addition to white paint and black furniture. The kitchen creates a vibrant ambience because of the amalgamation of open and closed cabinets with the integrated perforations acting as integrated handgrips for the same.
In addition to the interior, the transparency at both the façade of the house allows penetration of natural light and creates illuminance within. The open staircase owns a large roof light above which allows abundance of natural light within. The other material used in addition to the paint is clear pine wood finished wall which connects the upper and the lower level.
The simple and the unique interior of the house for a small family is a revelation of combination of simple concept along with simple and few materials. The architects have succeeded in creating pure energetic space which binds the various areas together by the transparency and continuity of spaces and use of honest materials within the house.
