0-14 Tower, a twenty-two-storey tall commercial tower perched on a two-storey podium in the heart of Dubai's Business Bay, designed by the Architects Jesse Reiser and Nanoko Umemoto of RUR Architecture in collaboration with developer Shahab Lutfi comprises 300,000sqft and would be located along the extension of Dubai Creek. The design shifts away from the architectural norm in current Dubai towers by eliminating the now obligatory curtain wall solutions and above ground parking, in favour of a shade-producing, concrete load-bearing shell and an open public space at the tower-base achieved through below ground parking.

An implied gaze is always cast upon anyone moving through this void creating a non-physical body search

This project is the design for a Jewellery Factory in SEEPS, Mumbai. What intrigued the architects when they approached the project is the amount of security and almost undignified condition of checks an employee has to go through daily. The system required a thorough body check at every step in the building in case if there are hidden diamonds.

NL Architects are of Dutch origin with an impressive work profile. The collaborative effort of Pieter Bannenberg, Walter van Dijk, Kamiel Klaasse and Mark Linnemann, dates back to the early 1990s, when they were all students together at the Technical University in Delft. The designers simply perceive the city as an ecosystem, where natural factors and urban growth are balanced with recycling being the prime focus. This chemistry of modern architecture is visible in WOS 8.
