Creating a continuation between the manufacturing and the selling, Scandinavian-based architects Schmidt Hammer Lassen have successfully created the link.

One always ponders about the creativity and the time one has spent in creating beautiful art pieces – either be it an art jewellery piece or any other form of art. This link is completed by the Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects who have worked on showcasing this continuation in the Bodil Binner Goldsmith shop and studio.

The client requirement included creating a studio as well as a retail space and thus the architects explored the connectivity between the two and created a concept of working on the visual link between the two so that visitor can observe the complete creative process. Spread over two floors, the basement floor constitutes of the studio, and the mezzanine level serves as a retail area overlooking the creative studio with an excellent display of the works of Bodil Binner Goldsmith.

The entrance of the retail space is conceptualised to resemble pirates treasure chest and thus cladded in raw polished steel tiles. The double heighted curved ceiling sheath the customer with mirror fixed on the top. Upon entering this continues as a staircase which connects all the areas together within a single vision of the customer.

To add beauty of the space, the complete interior is finished with white paint. The choice of the colour creates a simple and elegant architectural statement with uniquely painted walls, floors and ceilings. Even the concrete and the wooden surfaces are painted in white, giving a raw look and feel, however merging within the white painted ambience but maintaining the consistency of the ambience.

To maintain the connectivity with the street, the large rectangular glass windows create a visual link both at the lower and the upper level. In addition to the sleek and elegant finishes inside, the furniture includes a compact reception desk.

The Bodil Binner Goldsmith, shop and studio by the architects is a creative visualization into reality where one can experience the art of creating masterpieces of jewelers and at the same time can own one from the same place. The beautiful white painted environment creates a spectacular ambience where everything merges naturally with each other.
