Zaha Hadid has been tapped to design a new parking garage at Miami’s Collins Park, a neighbourhood that is home to the City Ballet, the Bass Museum, the City Library and several luxury hotels. The garage will be located steps away from the Miami Beach Convention Center and the Gehry-designed New World Symphony Center. It will join other high profile parking garages in the Miami including Gehry’s Pennsylvania Avenue Garage; Herzog & de Meuron’s new space at 1111 Lincoln Road; and two garages designed by Arquitectonica, the Ballet Valet Garage at 7th Avenue and Collins and one at Sunset Harbour that is currently underway. The City of Miami is currently working with Hadid’s London office on the project’s design and schedule.
