MHADA has taken up construction of 2,297 flats in different locations, which will be sold via lottery. The projects will cater to all sections of the society. Of the 2,297 flats, 1,400 will be in the lower-income group, 393 in the economically weaker section group, 455 in the middle-income group and the rest in the higher-income group. The projects are being undertaken on a turn-key basis and it will take about two years for them to be ready for possession. The areas where the housing schemes would come up are Nehru Nagar, Kurla, Shailendra Nagar, Dahisar, Oshiwara, Nehru Nagar, Rajendra Nagar, Borivli, Navghar Vasahat, Mulund, Kannamwar Nagar, Vikhroli, Tilak Nagar, Chembur, Majaswadi, Jogeshwari and others. MHADA had recently announced redevelopment schemes for two of its settlements at Kannamwar Nagar and Tagore Nagar in Vikhroli.
