Åsa Bäckman is a Founding Director of Milk:studio architects. She studied architecture, landscape architecture and philosophy at the University of Lund, and worked in Stockholm, Sweden before coming to London to study at the Architectural Association. Åsa has an interest in how architecture and landscape design can assist in forming communities, accommodate for social interaction between people and how the built environment can make a difference to this aspect of people’s lives.

Marcel Rahm, is a Founding Director of Milk:studio architects.. Marcel studied architecture and building science at Winterthur, and worked in Zurich, Switzerland before coming to London to study at the Architectural Association. Marcel is interested in the materiality of architecture and how contemporary materials and lighting can inform development of built form and challenge conventional organisational hierarchies and use of materials. Marcel has experience in building technology and building science and is responsible for developing the practice’s know how in building technology.
