KMS Team GmbH was founded in 1984, initially as a graphic design studio, and in the following years extended its range to include both financial documentation, such as annual reports, as well as exhibition and trade fair stand design. By the middle of the 1990s, with their competence established, the firm was specialising in all aspects of corporate identity work, including strategic planning, branding and naming, corporate culture and wording, three-dimensional design and website design. When discussing their practice and attitude the KMS Team GmbH says that the name they give to their line of work is 'depth design.' What it means is that they find authentic forms and modes of expression to reflect the identity of a company, institution, or event." The 'Team' holds itself synonymous with all aspects of corporate identity work, including strategic planning, branding and naming, corporate culture and wording, three-dimensional design and website design, in an integrated range of services. Via a range of corporate work they point out, "Making essential points perceivable with accurate artwork is a complex and multi-faceted process. The only way to attain this goal is through unflagging consistency and a highly sensitive touch. These factors form the basic stance from which they derive the focal points of their operations: corporate design, corporate communications, and trade fair communications."

Today, under the leadership of Michael Keller, Knut Maierhofer, Christoph Rohrer and Armin Schlamp, KMS Team GmbH is among the top five design offices in Germany.

Tokujin Yoshioka was born in Japan in 1967 and, after having studied at length with Shiro Kuramata and Issey Miyake, in 2000 set up his studio, Tokujin Yoshioka Design, in Tokyo. His partnership with Issey Miyake has been in existence for over 20 years. Tokujin Yoshioka has taken part in a number of projects by the fashion designer, designing among other things Issey Miyake and A-POC stores and producing the installation entitled Issey Miyake Making Things for the Cartier foundation in Paris, achieving international fame.

Tokujin Yoshioka came to the Milan furniture show for the first time in 2002, presenting the chairs Honey Pop and Tokyo Pop for Driade. Again for Driade, in the same year, he designed an extraordinary installation, transforming the entire space, in the heart of Milan, into a futuristic Japanese garden.

His other projects include the TOFU lamp produced for Yamagiwa, the STARDUST chandelier designed for Swarovski Crystal Palace, shop windows for Hermes and the Toyota stand at the Tokyo motor show. One of the most recent and interesting experimental design works by Tokujin Yoshioka is the Pane Chair presented at last year's Milan furniture show. The name comes from the production process of the chair, similar to baking bread. The material is inserted in a mould and, as when bread is baked, placed in an oven. The fibres stiffen and memorise the shape of the mould through the effect of the heat. At the end of "cooking" the finished chair is taken out. The Pane Chair played a major role at the exhibition Tokujin Yoshioka x Lexus L-Finesse - Evolving Fiber Technology, staged at the Museo della Permanente in Milan. On that occasion Tokujin Yoshioka created an installation with more than 7000 km of optical fibres, transforming the space into a giant lens.

The British publishers Phaidon published the monograph book entitled Tokujin Yoshioka Design, distributed worldwide, which describes his experimental design, always in pursuit of new possibilities for future developments. Tokujin Yoshioka has received a number of awards and his works are displayed in the permanent collections of the most prestigious museums in the world: the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Vitra Design Museum in Berlin and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

With a love of accuracy in the realisation.5. With a serious goal and a lot of fun along the way.6. Working together with our clients.”As architects of identity, they conceive and construct buildings, interiors and landscapes; they develop products and communication measures. 3deluxe was established in 1992 as an interdisciplinary group of creators. Andreas and Stephan Lauhoff, both graduates in communication design and interior designer Nikolaus Schweiger had formed the initial group in Wiesbaden, Germany. During their common years of study, they acknowledged the increasing diversity and complexity of modern design. Since then, the synthesis of their skills has proven to be inspiring and progressive.

First projects in the pop-cultural field of fashion, music and sports allowed experimental work in the border zone between plane and space. In the mid 1990s, the designer Dieter Brell became the 4th head of 3deluxe. A former member of the group of artists ‘Adieu New York’, he now supervises the 3deluxe interior department jointly with Nikolaus Schweiger. The graphic division is attended by Andreas and Stephan Lauhoff.

Both teams cooperate in a constant creative exchange, which is significant for the procedure and the aesthetics of 3deluxe’s work. This characteristic style is especially accentuated in the non-commercial projects, arisen from the common interest in a scientific and conceptual design approach. Inspiration is found in a variety of fields, such as art, nature, science and technology, adding a distinctive character to each concept. Human perception is always the core of every creative approach, ensuring a maximum intuit understanding of their concepts.

Currently, 3deluxe presents itself as a creative unit of 19 designers, each contributing specific skills to the alternating, project-oriented team formations.
