Prof. Mamoru Kawaguchi is one of the most important engineers of our times. Dr in Structural Engineering, Professor at the Hosei University (Japan), Dr Honoris Causa by the University of Stuttgart (Germany), he has designed works such as the Tokyo Olympic Indoor Stadiums, Palau Sant Jordi, Tianjin Museum, A Natural Stone Bridge "INACHUS", Sun Dome Fukui, Ceramic Park MINO.Professor Kawaguchi has been granted many awards throughout his professional career, such as Quaternario Venezia (Sant Jordi Olympic Sports Palace in Barcelona), IASS Torroja Medal, IABSE International Award. He has invented the "Pantadome" system, which has been applied to several major spatial structures.
